Bramley D, in the Second Division, moved off the foot of the table,when they secured their first win of the season, against Aftermath D. Phil Thompson was unbeaten with John Diggens and Steve Cheeseman bagging braces, each lost to Alan Sherwin.
In the Third Division Ash D introduced 13 year old Hudson Foley in the match against College Hill D. He acquitted himself well beating Lesley Clement and taking games off Stephen Clement and Paul Tanton who each won twice. David Mackinnon, however, was the star player of the evening for Ash with a full house in a drawn match.
Bramley E moved into second spot in the Fourth Division with a 7-3 win over Godalming L. David Barraclough was unbeaten for Bramley with Bob Holmden notching a duo as did Ben Tahouri for Godalming.
In the Premier Division Merrow C played twice during cup week and, consequently, now head the table. A 6-4 win over Broadmoor was followed by an 8-2 thrashing of Challoner A. Andy Mudie was unbeaten in both matches with Micky Lang and Robin Pretty each winning twice in the Challoner match. Whilst Broadmoor had Clive Banham and Ian Cole to thank for their points.
In the First Division Ash B and Challoner B shared the spoils with Crispian Knight unbeaten for Challoner and Alan Gess and Mike Levey winning twice apiece for Ash. College Hill B just edged past Cody A 6-4 with Martin Sharp the hattrick hero for College Hill. Paul Shakespeare won twice for Cody. Shakespeare repeated this in draw against Ash A. Paul Mission also won twice for Cody but Rod Kay proved far too strong. Kay is a newcomer to the league and may well be Premier Division standard.
Just one cup result received to date. Godalming H beat Aftermath C 7-2 in the Last Two Cup. Tim Boxall won all his three whilst David Livingstone and James Wyncoll each lost to Ian Deswarte.
