Champions, Burymead B, launched their campaign with an emphatic whitewash of their C team. Michael Hill, Richard Tanner and Chris Bush doing the damage. Newly promoted College Hill A easily beat Ash A 8-2. Rory Scott secured a maximum for College Hill with team-mates Phil Harrison and Andy Clegg each winning twice but both lost to Ash’s Rod Kay. Burymead A eased past Challoner A 6-4. Phil Snelson picked up a trio for Burymead with Robib Prettty supporting with a couple this was matched by Challoner’s Anthony Johnson. Merrow B beat Godalming B 7-3 with Richard Seymour unbeaten and Andy Meads winning a couple in Merrow’s cause. A feature of the match was a win by Godalming’s Danielle Kelly over Andy Meads.
In the First Division Merrow D put their cards down with a 9-1 mauling of Ash B. John Grant and Scott Ayers both recorded trios and Shaun Newbold won twice. Godalming D beat newly promoted Merrow E 7-3 with Fei Fei Pei unbeaten and Yawei Wang and Carsten Horne notching duos but both beaten by Merrow’s Nigel Oh. Bramley A and Godalming E shared the points with no player unbeaten. Geoff Nevitt and Peter Palmer won twice for Bramley as did Godalming’s Jason Minoo and Carsten Horne. Cody A and College Hill B also split the points with College Hill’s Graham Nutting undefeated. Colleague Ady Mitchell won twice as did Cody’s Paul Shakespeare.
In the Second Division Godalming F eased past Woking LTC A 6-4. Steve Day won all three for Godalming with Jamie Felton grabbing a brace in support. Daniel Koenigsberger won twice for Woking. Bramley B beat Godalming G 8-2 with Linda Makepeace unbeaten and team-mates Dick Nevitt and Joe Melchionno winning a couple apiece. Both were beaten by Godalming’s Adit Gandhi. Merrow F and two man Aftermath D shared the points with Frank Roberts undefeated for Aftermath.
In the Third Division Aftermath E edged past Bramley C 6-4. Bramley’s Kim Farminer secured a maximum with duos for the Aftermath pair of John Setterfield and Dave Thomas, Godalming L also won 6-4, this against College Hill E. Newcomer Henry Russell won three for Godalming with College Hill’s Melvin Rose winning a couple. Burymead D beat Woking LTC B 7-3 with Gordon Aplin recording a trio and colleague Richard penton winning twice as did Woking’s Malcolm Hollett. Ash C whitewashed Godalming J with Margaret Thornton, Tony Harrison and Sheila Pretty. Godalming H proved just too strong for Bramley D winning 6-4. Chris King won all three for Godalming with Shula Laws supporting with a brace. Gary Nicholson won a couple for Bramley. College Hill D showed they are promotion contenders this season with an emphatic 8-2 victory over Godalming K. Stephen Kamphansen won all three for College Hill with Mike Caudrey and Lesley Clement supporting with duos.
