There remain four teams in the league that boast a 100% record one of them being College Hill D who appear to be head and shoulders above the rest of the Fourth Division. Against a strong Cranleigh B team they romped home 7-3 with Paul Tanton and David J Reading unbeaten. The other undefeated outfit in the division is Woking LTC C who also triumped 7-3 in their most recent match, against Bramley G. Alex Bolychevsky, Sue Holder and Mike Glen each picked up braces. Mike Smith also won twice for the losing Bramley team. These two teams have already established a cushion to the rest of the division.
In the Premier Division it looks a near fire certainty that Burymead B will regain the title. Their latest success, 8-2 against their C squad, was built on the back of a trio from Chris Bush and pairs from Richard Tanner and Michael Hill who both succumbed to Tim Waller. Perhaps the result of the week in the top flight was a whitewash from Burymead A inflicted on Challoner A. The winning trio being Phil Snelson, Gordon Holmes and Derek Holman. The bottom of the Premier Division is uncomfortable for several teams including Merrow B who will be grateful to have encountered a Merrow C side a little out of sorts. Richard Seymour and Bipin Majithia were undefeated including Jason Tendler in their conquests.
The top of the First Division is beginning to sort itself out with Challoner B moving into top spot after a draw with Woking LTC B. Unsurprisingly Rory Scott secured a maximum with Trevor Spraggs and Crispian Knight winning twice apiece for Challoner. College Hill A slugged out a draw against Challoner C with Phil Harrison unbeatable for College Hill. Sally Cimiotti and Martin Rozario managed braces and kept Challoner C on the edge of the promotion race.
The promotion battle at the top of the Second Division appears to be settled already with Aftermath B and C already streets ahead of the rest of the division. The B team’s latest success was a 9-1 demolition of Burymead D with Steve Cheek and Frank Roberts unbeaten and Bill Matlock picking up a pair. The C team did even better with a whitewash of Merrow G. James Sellen, Dave Wilson and Martin Strutt being the successful trio. Cranleigh A has moved out of the relegation zone after a 6-4 win over Aftermath D. Angela Coventry was unbeaten for Cranleigh with Mark Lockyer chipping in with a couple, this was matched by Jim Roberts for the losers. Bramley C also helped their cause thanks to a narrow 6-4 defeat inflicted on Godalming E. Mark Buttle picked up a trio with Steve Cheeseman winning twice. Mike May won twice for Godalming who used two youngsters Jessica Monis and Dom Carpenter who each won once.
