Burymead C registered their first win of the season in the Premier Division when they got the better of College Hill A 6-4. Joel Clancy was unbeaten for Burymead with Jorge Dominguez and Phil Harrison each bagging braces for College Hill. Merrow A and Merrow C shared the points with Andy Mudie maintaining his unbeaten record for the C team. John Robinson and Jason Tendler each won twice for the A team who then suffered a surprise 6-4 defeat against College Hill A. Dominguez and Harrison each won twice again for the outfit from Brook but Tendler proved unbeatable for Merrow.
In the First Division Merrow D edged past Aftermath A, 6-4. Nobody was unbeaten or lost all three with Shaun Newbold and Scott Ayers for Merrow and Aftermath’s Simon Turner each getting pairs.
In the Second Division Godalming F suffered their first defeat, at the hands of Aftermath C. Aftermath’s Dave Wilson was unbeaten with James Sellen bagging a pair for the Aftermath squad. Gordon Grover won twice for Godalming. Merrow E stormed to the top of the table witha a 9-1 thrashing of Bramley D. Ce Guo and Alan Wan were unbaeaten for Merrow with Simon Dickinson contributing a duo, only losing out to Steve Cheeseman. Bramley C moved up the table after a 7-3 victory over Bramley D. Kerry East was unbeaten for the C team whilst Geoff Nevitt won twice as did Cheeseman for the D team. At the bottom of the table Aftermath D and Cranleigh A shared the points. Mark Lockyer picked up a maximum for Cranleigh whilst John Setterfield and Dave Thomas each recorded duos for Aftermath. Aftermath D also shared the spoils against College Hill C. Again Thomas won twice and he was joined by his teammate Jim Roberts. Mike Caudrey and Jim Clement notched pairs for College Hill. College Hill C did get the better of Burymead D 7-3 with Clement undefeated for College Hill. Jim Stewart won twice for College Hill as did Jack Harrington for Burymead.
In the Fourth Division Godalming K showed no mercy in beating a two-man Godalming M team 9-1. Roger Aspital and Tim Boxall were unbeaten whilst Ram Sethi only lost to youngster Juliette Mousarie. College Hill E has swept to the top after an 8-2 drubbing of Bramley F. Paul Stock and Paul Tanton were both undefeated for College Hill with Richard Johnston only losing out to Mike Smith.
In the Handicap Cup Ash D proved to be far too strong for Aftermath winning 5-1. David Mackinnon and your correspondent were unbeaten with Jackie Rice losing out to James Sellen for Aftermath to pick up their single win.
Burymead A predictably whitewashed a third division Aftermath X in the Veteran’s Cup. Phil Snelson, Richard Tanner and Gordon Holmes.
All teams are reminded that any games postponed in the first half of the season have to be completed by Jan 18th.
