The main interest in the Premier Division is at the bottom end of the table and Burymead C had the best result last week, sharing the points with Challoner A. Richard Parke was unbeaten for Burymead with Shaun Robertson and Crispian Knight notching duos for Challoner. This closed the gap a little to Godalming C who got thrashed by their A team, 9-1. Adam Laws and Robin Honey were unbeaten for the A squad. College Hill A fared even worse being whitewashed by Burymead A. Phil Snelson, Gordon Holmes and Ramesh Bhalla winning the points for Burymead.
Challoner B must surely have wrapped up the title in the First Division after a 10-0 mauling of Aftermath B. Crispian Knight, Steve Collins and Maria Taylor-Woodward bear the mantle of champions. Merrow D have eased their relegation worries with 7-3 successes over College Hill B and Bramley A. Scott Ayers won five out of six and Shaun Newbold four in the two matches. Dave Halfpenny was unbeaten against Bramley and Tim Ngyou bagged a brace against College Hill. Woking LTC A dented the promotion hopes of Godalming D with a 6-4 win. John Koenigsberger notched a trio for Woking with Kevin Bown pitching in with a pair which was matched by Christophe Pietrek for Godalming.
The outstanding result in the Third Division was Ash D’s 9-1 thrashing of Challoner C. David Mackinnon and Jackie Rice recorded full houses whilst Ben Fereday only lost out to Tom Taylor-Woodward. College Hill D maintained their promotion campaign with a whitewash of Godalming H. Derek Hubbard together with Lesley and Steve Clement winning the points. All this is putting pressure on Woking LTC C who shared the points with Abinger. Mike Frean was unbeaten for Woking with Keith Sutton and Brendan Bayley securing braces for Abinger. Leaders Godalming G could even afford to play one short against their J team and still win 6-4. James Wyncoll was unbeaten for the G team with Paul Rumble notching a duo for the runaway leaders.
In the Second Division Cranleigh A has sprinted up the table with a 10-0 win over Aftermath D. Peter Coventry, Angela Coventry and Mark Lockyer have now gone a long way to ensuring second division status next season. Less happy will be Bramley B who succumbed 8-2 to Godalming F for whom Danny McGranaghan and Gordon Grover were undefeated. Burymead D also suffered an 8-2 reverse, this against Aftermath C. Dave Wilson won all his three for Aftermath with James Sellen and David Harden each getting a couple of wins. In such a tight division Bramley C are still unbeaten with their latest victims their D team. Geoff Nevitt got his usual maximum with Kerry East winning twice with Steve Cheeseman also winning twice, this for the D team.
Some big wins in the Fourth Division. Godalming K whitewashed Bramley F, Roger Aspital, Tim Boxall and Ram Sethi inflicting the damage. Godalming L also won 10-0 this against their N team. Sam Barkham, Ben Tahouri and Richard Naylor getting the wins. Woking LTC D lost a little ground with a 9-1 win over Burymead E. Mervyn Newell and Malcolm Hollett each recorded trios whilst Alex Bolychevsky only lost to Bob Sacre. Cranleigh B proved far too strong for Woking LTC E getting home 8-2. Chris Ray and Tim Hobbs were unbeaten for Cranleigh.
