Burymead B opened the defence of their title with an emphatic win, 9-1, over Challoner A. Richard Tanner and Chris Bush were unbeaten with Tim Waller winning twice. Merrow A easily beat newcomers, Ash A, 8-2 with John Robinson and Jason Tendler unbeaten. Merrow B got the better of Godalming B 7-3 with all the Merrow players, Graham Faulkner, John Callcut and Richard Seymour bagging braces. Burymead A eased past Challoner B, 6-4. Phil Snelson was unbeaten for Burymead with Gordon Holmes recording a pair as did Ross Saxby for Challoner. Broadmoor also won 6-4 against College Hill A although College Hill had the star performer of the evening in the shape of Rory Scott who notched a full house. Clive Banham and Mark Handcock each won twice for Broadmoor.
In the First Division Cody B put the disappointment of near relegation from the division behind them with an 8-2 win over Aftermath B. Dario Cereda and Paul Shakespeare were unbeaten for Cody with Paul Mission bagging a brace. Bramley A beat newcomers, Merrow E, 9-1 with Peter Palmer and Ron Stracey getting full houses with Nick Gould winning twice. Merrow D also got a big win, 8-2, against Bramley B. Scott Ayers won all his three whilst John Grant and Sameer Pathak managed pairs. Allianz also won well with another 8-2 win, this against Godalming C. Manoj Shah grabbed a trio with Clayton Green and newcomer Gaurav Choksi winning twice apiece. Ash B managed a tight win against Aftermath A 6-4. Ian Saxby and Martin Gilbey won twice as did Simon Turner for Aftermath.
College Hill B look to be clear favourites for the Second Division and they started with a whitewash against Aftermath D. Adi Mitchell, Adrian Sharp and Graham Nutting won the points for College Hill. Newcomers Ash C notched up a convincing win at Burymead D 8-2. Sam Wan and David Mackinnon were unbeaten for Ash. Aftermath C also won 8-2, this against Cranleigh. David Harden won all his three for Aftermath with Dave Wilson and James Sellen each winning twice but neither could beat Peter Coventry who bagged the Cranleigh points. College Hill C got the better of Godalming E 7-3 with all of College Hill Mike Caudrey, Jim Clement and Paul Tanton grabbing duos and Paul Rumble got two for Godalming. Woking LTC C beat Bramley C, also 7-3, Ahmad Matoorian won all three for Woking with Kevin Barkham winning a couple as did Linda Makepeace for Bramley. Godalming D edged past Woking LTC B 6-4. James Wyncoll won all three for Godalming with Jason Minoo bagging a brace as did Daniel Koenigsberger for Woking. The match between the last two named featured a 22-20 winning final set for Koenigsberger.
