GUILDFORD TEAM HANDICAP – ROUND 2           

The stand out match of round 2 featured Emmanuel at home to Godalming F. Three matches finished level on points with the visitors Jamie Felton’s 8-11, 5-11, 1-11 victory over Stephen Bridle being the pick of the bunch. Another 3 matches finished with a margin of just a couple of points and strangely the first of the doubles matches is recorded as ‘not played’ – no point awarded to either team. Godalming won the match 6.5 to 4.5 but Emmanuel may well have finished the evening reflecting on what might have been.

Three matches also finished level on points in the Bramley D vs Woking A with the visitors Richard Hitchcox featuring in two of those matches. Richard won his third singles but his efforts could not prevent Bramley winning the tie 6.5 to 4.5.

Strangest result of the round featured the all Godalming affair between the G and L teams. Played ahead of schedule it was a 2 a side match resulting in a 4-1 victory for the L team of James Landon and Ty Tyson over Danielle and Estelle Kelly.

The remaining results all suggest matches were won comfortably – Godalming K overcame Aftermath X by 8.5 to 3.5 and Cranleigh made the drive home fairly early after going down 7.5 to 0.5 at Aftermath Y. Challoner C triumphed 10-2 at Godalming although in fairness to the home team some of the matches were reasonably close. Merrow G lost 1-11 at home to Cody B – not seen the scoresheet for that one yet but I know Merrow gave some match practice to two new players. The result from the Godalming H vs Cody A match has not yet come thru.
