The champions, Burymead B, opened with the largest win in the Premier Division, 9-1 against College Hill A. Matt Pernet and Michael Hill were unbeaten with Richard Tanner only losing to Jorge Dominguez. Godalming A also started well, 8-2, against Burymead C. Adam Laws won all his three with Robin Honey and Steve Davis bagging braces. Merrow C got the better of newly promoted Godalming C, 7-3. Andy Mudie was the hattrick hero with Robin Pretty winning twice. Merrow B also managed a 7-3 success, against Challoner A. Graham Faulkner won all his three with Richard Seymour and John Callcut recording a pair apiece. Merrow A edged out Burymead A 6-4 with John Robinson winning all three for Merrow. He was supported by Martin Townshend who won twice as did Phil Snelson for Burymead. Broadmoor and Godalming B shared the spoils with Mark Handcock unbeaten for Broadmoor. Sarah Horsnell and Keith Falconer each won twice for Godalming.
The results in the First Division were closer but Challoner B, aiming for a quick return to the top flight, overcame Allianz 8-2. Maria Taylor-Woodward was unbeaten with Steve Collins and Crispian Knight chipping in with duos. Aftermath B edged out Cody A 6-4 with Frank Roberts unbeaten for Aftermath. Teammate Bill Matlock notched a pair as did Paul Mission for Cody. Aftermath A also won 6-4, against Godalming D. None of the Aftermath players was able to get the better of Yawei Wang. Simon Turner and Albert Cheung each won twice for Aftermath. The points were shared between Bramley A and Ash B with no player winning or losing all three. Braces were recorded for Nick Gould from Bramley and Alan Gess and Martin Gilbey from Ash.
Burymead D picked up the largest win in the Second Division, 9-1 against two-man Bramley D. Richard Green and Jack Harrington being unbeaten for Burymead. College Hill C overcame newly promoted Cranleigh A 8-2. Noel Fairbairn won all three for College Hill but both Jim Clement and Mike Caudrey lost out to Angela Coventry. Godalming F showed that they will be happy at the higher level with a 7-3 success against Woking LTC B. Gordon Grover notched a trio for Godalming with Fred Florance bagging a brace as did Kevin Barkham for Woking. Merrow E also had a 7-3 win, over Aftermath C. Ce Guo and Paul Farrant both being unbeaten for Merrow. Bramley C edged out Godalming E 6-4. Geoff Nevitt picked up a full house with Phil Thompson securing a pair for Bramley. Pavlina Polakova won twice for Godalming. Bramley B also had a 6-4 win this against Aftermath D. Linda Makepeace notched a trio whilst Joe Melchionno recorded two wins, matched by John Setterfield from Aftermath.
Big wins in the Third Division. Abinger beat Cody B 8-2 with Jim Faulkner and Brendan Bayley getting full houses. Ash D also won 8-2, against Godalming H. Dave Mackinnon was unbeaten for Ash with Margaret Thornton and Sheila Pretty each winning twice but neither could better Helen Ross. College Hill D also won 8-2, this against Godalming J. Derek Hubbard and Paul Tanton being unbeaten. Godalming G got the better of Ash C with a 7-3 scoreline. James Wyncoll picked up a maximum for Godalming with teammate Paul Rumble winning twice as did Sandy Simpson for Ash. Woking LTC C and Challoner C shared the spoils but Challoner only fielded two players one of whom, Tom Taylor-Woodward was unbeaten.
