There were some significant results in the Third Division with several teams recording their first victory of the season. Woking LTC B beat Godalming J 8-2 with Bimal Shukla and Malcolm Hollett both unbeaten. Godalming K eased past Bramley C 6-4 with Paul Fenton winning all three and Richard Naylor supporting with a couple. This was matched by Bramley’s Kim Farminer. Bramley D overcame Godalming L 8-2 with both Dave Phillips and Gary Nicholson recording trios. College Hill D inflicted the first defeat on Burymead D winning 6-4. Gordon Aplin was unbeaten for Burymead with Steve Clement and Dave Partridge both winning twice for College Hill.
Merrow D lost for the first time in the First Division when Bramley A edged past them 6-4. Dave Halfpenny was the star performer on the evening with a full house for Merrow. Geoff Nevitt and Nick Gould both bagged braces for Bramley. Aftermath A beat Godalming E 8-2 with both Steve Pearce and Simon Turner notching trios. Albert Cheung won a couple in support.
Bramley E, in the Fourth Division, enjoyed their first success of the season, against Godalming R, 6-4. Ty Tyson won all his three for Godalming with all the Bramley team, Richard Phelps, Mahboob Raza and Malcolm Moran-Ellis each winning a couple. Emmanuel TTC inflicted the first defeat on College Hill F winning 8-2. Keith Brown and Stephen Schofield each recorded maximums for Emmanuel.
Three teams still boast a 100% record in the Second Division. Cranleigh eased past Merrow F 6-4 with Peter Coventry winning three times for Cranleigh and wife, Angela, twice successful. John Upham bagged a brace for Merrow. Abinger A beat Merrow G 8-2 with both Mike Hughes and Brendan Bayley remaining unbeaten. Godalming F, even with only two players, proved too strong for Aftermath D, winning 6-4. Steve Day won all his three with Jonathan Cannon winning twice in support.
