Allianz will be very content with their start to the season with a 7-3 success against Burymead D the latest result. Steve Simnett was unbeaten with Graham Norton and Clayton Green both pitching in with pairs but neither able to get the better of Jack Harrington. Bramley D has started with two draws, against Aftermath C and Woking LTC B. Geoff Nevitt has won four times with Kerry East notching three wins. Dave Wilson with a trio and Martin Strutt picked up the points for Aftermath with Kevin Barkham and Ahmad Matoorian getting duos for Woking. Bramley C picked up their first win, 7-3 against Merrow H. Paul Brook and Steve Cheeseman were unbeaten for Bramley.
Challoner D, in the Third Division, have had a tough start but will be content with a draw against Aftermath D. Tom Taylor-Woodward showed why he will be a prize scalp in this division with a maximum. John Setterfield and Dave Thomas each won twice for Aftermath. Abinger notched their first win against Aftermath E, 6-4. Keith Sutton won all three for Abinger whilst Peter Millie and Richard Tapp secured duos for the losers.
In the Fourth Division Woking LTC C continued with their 100% record with an 8-2 success against Godalming G. Michael Glen with three supported by Alex Bolychevsky and Mike Kam with duos were the Woking team. John Upham picked up the Godalming points. Cranleigh B and Burymead E fought out a draw with Eddie Hounslow undefeated for Burymead and Blue Porter and Gerald Stacey won twice apiece for Cranleigh. Cranleigh C may well finish higher than their B team with the acquisition of Chris Ray who was undefeated in a 7-3 win over Merrow K. Roger Williams provided the support with a brace which was matched by David Bryan for the losers.
In the Premier Division Challoner A took Burymead A’s 100% record with a 6-4 win. Rob Lemon was undefeated for Challoner with Anthony Johnson notching a pair, matched by Derek Holman for Burymead. Merrow A edged past their C team, 6-4. The player of the evening was the C team’s, Jason Tendler who was undefeated. John Robinson and Koray Ozcan managed pairs for the A team. Merrow D edged past Ash A, 6-4. Micky Lang picked up a maximum whilst Steve French weighed in with a brace for the victors. Mike Wagstaff won twice for Ash.
College Hill B, in the First Division, has started very well with a 7-3 win over Aftermath B their latest success. Phil Harrison was undefeated whilst Adrian Sharp won twice for College Hill. Frank Roberts won twice for Aftermath. Aftermath A kept up their 100% record with a 7-3 win over Challoner C. All three of the Aftermath players, Steve Pearce, Albert Cheung and Simon Turner won twice which was matched by Sally Cimiotti for Challoner.
